Systematically reduce the fall risk with the app-based Lindera Mobility Analysis

    About the Mobility Analysis

The Lindera App analyzes individual fall risk factors, defines intervention targets for risk reduction and proposes tailored measures to reduce the fall risk and enhance mobility. The Mobility Analysis consists of two steps: the in-app fall risk questionnaire and a gait analysis via smartphone camera. The precise 3D motion tracking accurately calculates step patterns as well as body inclanation – even with the use of walking aids.

The resulting analysis provides personalized recommendations to reduce the fall risk and maintain mobility in high age. The repeated use of Lindera is associated with significant decreases in fall risk.

The combination of high precision diagnostic and matched recommendations has proven effective in clinical studies. Study results show a fall risk reduction of 18% after the second analysis and an overall improvement of the clinically relevant gait parameters.

    FAQ

How is the fall risk score calculated?

The fall risk score is calculated on the basis of the analysis of evidence-based risk factors. We determine the factors from the gait analysis and the questionnaire. The fall risk score can have a value of 0–100. The more risk factors are present, the higher the fall risk score.

What are the evaluated risk factors based on?

The questionnaire and the various risk factors are based on the “state-of-the-art” clinical research and (inter) national guidelines.

Can special movements, e.g., getting out of the shower, be analyzed as well?

Currently, we cannot adequately analyze specific scenarios, such as getting out of the shower. We cannot yet reliably train our algorithm because there are no scientifically substantiated reference values and no uniform movement patterns available for an assessment.

What questions are asked in the questionnaire?

In accordance with expert standards, the questionnaire contains questions about illnesses, medication, cognition and impairments, fall history, excretory behavior, personality, and living situation.

What is the personality profile based on?

The personality profile is only created if the standard version of the questionnaire is answered – this part is not included in the short version.

The SturzApp personality profile is based on the scientifically substantiated Big Five personality model. This model describes the unique patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior which make up a person, by means of five basic characteristics that each person has in different ways: Neuroticism, extraversion, openness, tolerance and conscientiousness. Lindera records these five characteristics within the framework of the questionnaire and summarizes the results in a brief personality profile.
